Now that's just MEAN!

News article on both CNN and Yahoo!News that the Vatican is releasing a complete account of the trial of the Knights Templar, including previously unreleased documents from the secret Papal archives (now THERE'S a place I'd like to hang out for a while) indicating that Pope Clement initially intended to issue a pardon and reform the Order. That's the good news.

Bad news? Releasing it in a limited edition (only 799 volumes), for $8377 each. An 800th copy will go to Pope Benedict.

But I WANTS one! :-(

In today's world, I am sure someone with the money will buy one, then blog it several pages at a time somewhere soon, or post a link to it in .pdf format.

You just have to be patient. Either that or recruit 8377 friends at $1 each or some other alternative.

Hell, I wants one too, but even at a 50-50 split that's 4k I just don't have...sucks, dunnit.

The summary they released in the news story itself is plenty interesting, so I suppose you're right, sooner or later they'll release more to the public.

*sigh* At some point I should visit the Vatican.
